Focused EMDR for the experiences that still feel close — concentrated time to process the trauma your mind hasn’t been able to put to rest.
When the weekly hour feels too short, an intensive creates room to move through difficult material safely.
When something overwhelming happens, the brain doesn’t always finish processing it. The experience can stay “stuck” — resurfacing as flashbacks, anxiety, a constant sense of being on guard, or the feeling that the past is never quite past. An EMDR intensive gives that unfinished work the uninterrupted time it needs. Across a focused half-day or full-day block, we use EMDR to help your brain reprocess what happened, so the memory loses its grip and no longer intrudes on the present. Intensives are often a strong fit for a single overwhelming event, layered or long-standing trauma, or grief that still feels raw — especially when the weekly hour feels too short for the deeper work.
Includes the pre-intensive planning session and the integration follow-up. Multi-day intensives available by arrangement. Private pay; a superbill is provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
In both weekly sessions and intensives, I use gentle wearable bilateral stimulation to help settle the nervous system and ease the body’s stress response — so you can stay grounded and present while we move through difficult material. You’re always free to choose from several options, or simply work with what feels right in the moment.
