The standard therapy hour is a wonderful container — until it isn’t. Sometimes you finally reach the heart of something just as the clock runs out, and you have to wait another week to begin again.

An intensive removes that ceiling. We set aside a dedicated block of time — half a day or a full day — to stay with the work long enough to make real movement.

Why an intensive

More time, more momentum

A format built around depth rather than the calendar.

Half-day or full-day

Choose a focused block that fits your needs and capacity — enough room to settle in, go deep, and come back to ground before you leave.

When weekly stalls

Ideal when ongoing therapy keeps circling the same material, or when life simply doesn’t allow a steady weekly rhythm.

A single hard thing

Especially suited to one specific memory, event, or theme that you’re ready to face with concentrated support.

Pairs with weekly care

Intensives can complement your existing therapy — here or elsewhere — rather than replace it.

How an intensive runs

Prepared, then immersed

Careful preparation makes the deeper day possible.

1

Preparation

Before the day itself, we meet to map your goals, build grounding skills, and make sure the timing and focus are right for you.

2

The intensive

On the day, we work in EMDR with built-in breaks — enough sustained time to process without the weekly hand-brake.

3

Integration

Afterward, we follow up to help the shifts take root and decide together what, if anything, comes next.

New to EMDR?

If the intensive format feels like a lot, ongoing trauma therapy introduces EMDR at a gentler, weekly rhythm first.
